TEOCO launches SmartCM 2.0 for more efficient radio network auditing and configuration
Additional capabilities ensure efficient roll out and the integrity of the Radio Access Network (RAN)
FAIRFAX, VA., USA – 20 February 2018 – TEOCO, the leading provider of analytics, assurance and optimization solutions to over 300 communication service providers (CSPs) and OEMs worldwide, has today announced the launch of SmartCM 2.0, the latest version of its next generation Radio Access Network (RAN) configuration management solution. The solution’s new planned network capabilities allow mobile operators to roll-out, audit and ensure the integrity of the RAN network, providing a better quality of service for subscribers.
SmartCM 2.0 leverages TEOCO’s expertise in RAN planning, optimization and operations to deliver operators a faster, more accurate and efficient configuration solution. With SmartCM 2.0 operators can also automatically monitor and audit the accuracy and performance of changes to the configuration of their networks, leading to a reduction in operating costs and an improvement in network quality.
The updated solution marks the introduction of new planned network capabilities, which permits a baseline network to be built and managed within the solution. SmartCM 2.0 compares the live network configuration with this desired plan network baseline, highlighting parameter configuration discrepancies, a primary cause of poor network performance. Resolving these configuration discrepancies ensures RAN network integrity, and allows faster optimization of the network for an enhanced subscriber experience.
Additional planned network management capabilities include:
- Groups: Segregates the physical network into logical groups, allowing engineers to apply configuration defaults to all elements in a group in an efficient manner.
- Templates: Defines golden parameters and business rules, against which all elements can be evaluated and discrepancies highlighted.
- Plan edits: Allows a user to edit parameter values on the planned network within a permitted range, capturing full traceability of who, when and why the change was made.
- Template builder: Allows templates to be built by users from within the SmartCM GUI, without any scripting or coding knowledge.
To further enhance operational efficiency, report automation has also been introduced into SmartCM 2.0, allowing users to automate the scheduling and distribution of reports. This means key operational reports can be compiled and emailed to a user and be waiting in their inbox when they reach the office, giving users an immediate view of network health first thing in the morning.
“When it comes to the Radio Access Network, misconfiguration is one of the primary causes of poor performance, leading to a potential loss in revenue and risking poor subscriber experience. Operators must ensure that their networks are being implemented correctly, and we have enhanced this critical visibility with SmartCM 2.0,” said Atul Jain, Founder and CEO of TEOCO. “Additionally, by automating key operational reports SmartCM 2.0 gives engineers proactive access to configuration information at their fingertips. This allows them to spend less time troubleshooting, increasing efficiency and freeing up their time to focus on optimizing the network.”
